Technology: These are peristaltic hose pumps — the fluid (slurry) is contained entirely within a flexible hose, which gets periodically compressed by a rotor to move the fluid.
Abrasive Resistance: They’re very abrasion resistant. The hose is built to withstand high wear, and hose life doesn’t depend directly on how abrasive the slurry is.
High Solids Handling: Some Verderflex hose pumps can handle up to ~80% solid content and slurries with specific gravities (SG) over
Pressure & Flow: Depending on the model, they can deliver very high flow rates (for example, up to ~90 m³/h) and pressures up to ~16 bar.
Suction Lift: They offer strong self-priming capability, with suction lift up to about 9.5 m water column.
Dry Running: These pumps can run dry (i.e., without fluid) without getting damaged.
Reversible Operation: The rotor/hose arrangement allows the pump to reverse, which helps clear blockages.
Reliable, Low Maintenance: Since only the hose is in contact with the slurry (no internal seals), maintenance is simpler — you only replace the hose.
Hose Materials: Various hose materials are available (e.g., NR, NBR, EPDM) to suit different slurry chemistries and abrasiveness.
Safety: The design can fully contain the hose inside a casing (“disaster-proof hose connection”), reducing risk if a hose fails.
VF Series: This is their industrial peristaltic hose pump line, built for “difficult media” like slurries, sludge, thickened / viscous fluids.
Example: VF125 — very high flow (up to ~90 m³/h), 16 bar.
Maximum particle size for VF125 is around 31.25 mm.
Dura Series: More recent hose pump generation, rugged and designed for heavy duty. Mining Technology+1
Applications: Widely used in mining (e.g. thickener underflow, high-density slurries), water/wastewater, and chemical industries. Mining Technology
Here are a few Verderflex (or similar) pumps — note: not all are “slurry” specific, because detailed slurry-rated units are often quoted / customized for industrial users:
Verderflex Positive Displacement Pump 99 mL/min — small tube/low-flow pump.
Verderflex Peristaltic Electric Pump 1.26 L/min (DC) — compact electric pump.
Verderflex Positive Displacement Pump 375 mL/min — mid-flow rate.
Verderflex Peristaltic Electric Pump 375 mL/min (24 V) — DC-powered variant.
Less Wear & Tear on Mechanical Parts: Only the hose touches the fluid, so no impellers or seal faces to erode quickly.
Lower Maintenance Cost: Replacing the hose is simpler than repairing internal pump components.
Better for Very Dense / Abrasive Slurries: Can handle very high solids and coarse particles.
Reduced Water Usage: In mining, using hose pumps for underflow duties can reduce the amount of dilution water required compared to other pump types. Mining Technology
Flexible Operation: Dry run, reversible flow, strong suction lift.

Here’s a clear, practical description of equivalent spare parts typically used for Weir Minerals (Warman) slurry pumps and suitable interchange (aftermarket) parts you can request or stock:
1. ImpellersThe rotating part that pushes slurry through the pump.
Can be metal (high-chrome white iron) or rubber/elastomer type depending on slurry abrasiveness.
Metal impellers are common for highly abrasive, coarse slurries; rubber for fine, non-sharp solids.
Volute liner / casing liner: Wear-resistant replaceable lining inside the casing.
Frame plate liner / wear plate: Protects stationary pump housing from slurry erosion.
Materials: hard metal alloys (e.g., high-chrome) or rubber/elastomer.
Sleeve fitted at the suction eye to protect against heavy wear.
Often made of high-chrome iron or rubber depending on the application.
A corrosion- and abrasion-resistant sleeve protecting the pump shaft where seals sit.
Typically stainless steel or hard plated materials.
Mechanical seals / gland packing / lantern rings / expeller and expeller rings:
These form the sealing system around the shaft to stop slurry leakage.
Materials vary (rubber, elastomer, stainless steel, etc.).
Heavy-duty, oil-lubricated roller or taper bearings with housing.
Critical for shaft alignment, reducing vibration and bearing wear.
Bolts, studs, O-rings, spacers, casing covers, shaft collars, etc.—these support assembly and wear part fit-up.
