A peristaltic pump moves fluid by compressing & relaxing a hose or tube. A rotor (with shoes or rollers) squeezes the flexible tube/hose to push fluid forward, then releases to let it refill.
The fluid being pumped only contacts the interior surface of the hose or tube. This means the hose/tube is the only wear/consumable part.
Here are typical specifications and performance features of Verderflex pumps, especially the sanitary/flexible hose & tube types:
| Parameter | Typical Value / Range |
|---|---|
| Flow rate | From very small (ml/min) up to ~90 m³/h for large hose pumps. |
| Discharge / Max Pressure | Up to ~16 bar for hose pumps. For tube / sanitary low-pressure models, more like ~1-2 bar. |
| Suction lift | Up to about 9.5 m of water column. |
| Temperature | Many sanitary/hygienic models can handle up to ~80 °C. With certain hose/tube material choices and design, maybe more. |
| Solid / particle handling | Hose pumps can handle quite large solids/slurries. E.g. solids size up to ~30-31 mm or more in some large hose models. |
| Materials (hose/tube) | Depending on the series, various elastomers: NR (Natural Rubber), NBR, NBRF, CSM, EPDM, silicone, Verderprene etc. For sanitary use, food-grade / pharmaceutical grade tubes (FDA, EC/1935, USP etc.) are used. |

Watson-Marlow offers a broad spectrum of pumps, from small laboratory-scale peristaltic pumps (e.g. the 120 Series) to heavy-duty, high-flow process pumps (e.g. their 700 Series cased pumps).
For example, their 700 Series can handle flow up to ~3,300 L/h, with speed control ratios up to 3,600:1, and full industrial control interfaces (EtherNet/IP, PROFIBUS, etc.). In food & beverage / hygienic applications, their Qdos pumps are certified (FDA, EC1935/2004) and designed for hygienic peristaltic pumping with low shear and minimal contamination risk.

Verderflex is a brand under Verder Liquids that specializes in peristaltic (hose and tube) pumps.
In peristaltic pumps, fluid is contained within a flexible hose or tube. A rotor (sometimes with rollers/shoes) compresses the tube to push fluid, then releases to draw more in.
Because only the hose/tube contacts the fluid, there are no seals/glands/valves in the fluid path — this reduces leakage risk and maintenance.
Verderflex makes both hose pumps (for high flow, abrasive or solid-laden fluids) and tube pumps (for dosing, hygienic applications).
Highly abrasion resistant.
Gentle (low-shear) pumping — useful for sensitive fluids like flocculants, live cells, etc.
Easy maintenance: the hose/tube is the main consumable.
High suction lift: up to ~9.5 m water column for certain hose pumps.
Hygienic options: food-grade / pharma-grade tubing available.
Dry-running capability (i.e., the pump can run without liquid) — since fluid is inside a flexible hose/tube.

Verder peristaltic metering pumps are high-precision, positive displacement pumps designed for accurate and reliable dosing of liquids across industrial and laboratory applications. These pumps operate using a rotating roller mechanism that compresses a flexible hose or tube, ensuring a gentle, pulse-controlled, and contamination-free flow path.
Their design allows them to handle clean, viscous, shear-sensitive, abrasive, and chemically aggressive fluids with ease. As the pumped medium never contacts the pump body or mechanical parts—only the tube/hose—Verder peristaltic pumps offer exceptional chemical compatibility, simplified maintenance, and long service life.
Verder’s metering range supports:
Precise dosing accuracy with adjustable flow control
Self-priming capability, even with challenging fluids
Dry-running tolerance without damage
Reversible flow direction for versatile use
Low shear pumping, ideal for sensitive media
These pumps are widely used in water treatment, chemical dosing, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, mining, and general process industries where accuracy, cleanliness, and dependability are critical.
